The project

Seriously damaged.
Technically recoverable.

Replacement was being considered after the fire. A specialist assessment showed that the original steel windows could be repaired and retained instead.

D&G Window Solutions restored all 40 windows in place. Damaged steel sections were cut out and replaced with welded repair sections, corrosion was treated and opening sashes were mechanically serviced. Brass fittings were cleaned, repaired or replaced before the frames received NS4 corrosion-inhibiting primer and a white Dulux gloss finish. The completed windows were reglazed with 6.38 mm clear laminated safety glass and specially ordered stained glass where required.
