Rusted sections rebuilt
Failed steel was cut out and replaced with new welded repair sections while the windows remained in place.
Original Steel Restoration · Commercial
Seventy-three original steel windows repaired and mechanically serviced in place, with welded rust repairs, renewed putty and the existing glass retained.

The project
The steel grid is central to Mason’s Press. Replacing it would have changed the building; specialist repair allowed the existing material and glass to remain.
D&G Window Solutions restored all 73 windows in place. Rusted steel sections were cut out and replaced with new welded repair sections, deteriorated window putty was removed and renewed, and opening units were mechanically serviced. Original glass was retained. Brass fittings were cleaned and serviced, with damaged items repaired or replaced as required. Priming and final painting were completed by another contractor.
Purpose in every detail
The building’s value lies in the repetition, patina and fine steel grid. The restoration respects that while recovering practical operation.
